So, finally got a couple games in with Rask. I played against a new player running ret. As he was still learning and did not have a lot of models, we did a 25 point game.
His list, from memory.
Ossyin
hypnos
mage hunter strike force with ua
battlemages
battle mage floaty guy(don' t know his name)
sniper
sylys
My list was
Rask
wrasler
snapper
full posse
full raiders
2 feral giests
First turns were fairly normal, we both basically ran up the board. I tried a couple shots at his MHSF, but could not hit with the raiders.
Turn 2 he had a good turn. Shatterstorm is a thing. I lost just under half of the raiders to it from the MSHF. I hypnos then void locked my wrasler, which meant he could not be forced. I then lost a feral giest to some battle mages.
I then used boundless charge to get around the void lock and charged hypnos, and promptly failed to hit him on the charge attack. My gators moved up and began to kill off his battlemages. My raiders continued their no hitting streak. I also disrupted hypnos with Rask's gun. Got one giest onto a flag and scored a point.
Turn three he tried but failed to kill my wrasler, and then took out a single gator from the unit. He then advanced his MHSF and got me down to 3 raiders. I scored another point.
Wrasler then killed off hypnos and my gators finished off the unit of battlemages, save one who passed his command check. My raiders killed off nothing with shooting, but did kill a Mage hunter on the charge. I went to 3 points.
Turn 4 he goes for the assination run with ossy and feated. after about 12 shots he took rask down.
It was a good game and I was helping him along as we went. I never feated, which would have prevented the caster kill. Things I did learn, power 10s have a huge issue removing gatormen. Raiders might need to aim against the higher def models out there. Feral Giests to get points on flags are awesome. Rask's gun is good, still sorting out what to do with it in target priority.
Second game was a quick 15 point game. Spitter did a great job clearing the high armor infantry. The wrasler then got a lane and failed to kill Ossyin by 1 damage point. I have to remember to put fury on the wrasler. He then failed a run at my caster, and I killed ossyin on the next turn. It was a great day of gaming, and I look forward to getting some more games in with Gators and Pigs in the future.

Post convention thoughts
Hello all
11-13 through 11-15 saw the Mace convention in Charlotte NC come and go. It was an awesome two days of gaming.
Some thoughts on cons in general and some warmachine and hordes games. It was a very fun time. I got more games in then I thought I could manage in a two day spread. While I was not running Gators, the games were all fun and I did learn a lot of tricks I didn't know about from the other factions.
First thoughts being this, make sure you get time to sleep. It might sound silly, but setting aside a good 6 hour block for sleep, not also food and hygiene, but sleep is a very good idea. It will allow you to enjoy the days more, and also to not be on a short temper for when things go wrong.
Also, make sure you see to your personal hygiene. You don't want to be the guy that has to be told to go clean up. The gamer funk is already there, don't add to it.
Also, accept that you are going to lose some games. It will happen, unless you are just the best player there that day. There is no escaping it. Be ready to accept it. Also, try to not go on tilt if you have a plan fall apart.
More to follow after I get some games in with the gators/farrow.

Why I am playing minions. 11-04-2015
So, I don't know if anyone will wish to read my thoughts on Minions, but I thought I might toss out some ideas now and again.
To start with, why am I playing them?
Around November of 2014 I made a comment or two on the Advanced Maneuvers youtube page about starting minions. They then challenged me to get a 35 point list fully painted up by the end of the year. I did not get it done that fast, but I do now own enough gators to do a 35 point list fully painted.
In the near future I'll have 50 points painted up and ready for the table top.
I also like the rules for gators. It is almost like they are cryx, but without worshiping a dragon. They have a good number of tricks that you will not find in other faction.
The other reason I decided to dive into them is that they look cool. I mean who doesn't like giant crocs and turtles and frogs? And, they are not run in my area.
So, with that said here are my goals for the blog.
I'd like to post once a week, maybe more, maybe less depending on real life.
Post thoughts on gators after actually having them on the table, with maybe some battle reports now and again.
Post pics of painted models, as well all like painted models best.
Thoughts and suggestions welcome.
